Monday morning I received a package, quite strange, delivered by an owl. Yes, you read that right: "delivered by an owl"! In the package, covered in kraft paper and tied up with a string, I found a brand new magic wand and a hand knitted hat accompanied by the following note:
Dear Louise,
Would you please keep this package that I reserve to Mr. Weasley for Christmas. He’s getting more and more curious over the years. He’s impossible, I think he discovered all my hiding spots! - Molly W.
I answered Mrs. Weasley that I would keep her package with great pleasure and I took the opportunity to compliment her about the beautiful hat she knitted.
Yesterday evening when I went back home, another package, smaller this time, was waiting for me at the doorstep. I was pleasantly surprised to discover a little notebook in which Mrs. Weasley had noted the instructions to knit what she called "Warm hat for de-gnoming the garden."
I got from her the permission to share this pattern with any "muggle" that would like to knit this model.
So grab your magic wand now and start your work!
In addition to this free pattern, you will need the following material to knit this hat:
- 1 skein of Louise Robert Design Merino Worsted - 100% Merino SW wool, 100g / 200m; 220 yds. The original hat shown on this picture was written with a yarn that is no longer available. There is a lot of colors available in the Merino Worsted collection so I am sure that you will find the right one to this this hat!
- DPN or circular needles of 4.5 and 5.5 mm
- 1 cable needle
- 2 stitch markers
- Pom pom is optional (shown with a vegan pompon color #37)
GAUGE : 19 sts = 10 cm in stockinette st on 5.5 mm
