Introducing Etrofil's new Falkland Worsted made of 100% Falkland Merino wool and dyed with Organic Certified Vegetable dyes.

Wool from the Falkland Islands is typically known for its incredible strength, elasticity and cozy texture.

Because this wool is grown in a colder climate and minimally processed, it is less delicate than typical merino wool. This yarn is GOTS-certified and made from mulesing-free wool in Turkey.

Machine wash on a cold and gentle cycle using a no-rinse wool wash; use a garment bag to reduce agitation and friction. Lay flat to dry.

Composition: 100% GOTS Certified Merino Wool
Weight / yardage: 3.6 oz (100 g) = approx 218 yds (200 meters)
Recommended needle size: US # 7-9/4.5-5.5 mm
Gauge: 16-20 sts = 10 cm

Good quality wool

This is a good quality wool, with the occasional, easily removable straw remnant. The rough texture of the finished product can be avoided by adding a strand of merino/silk wool. I would not use this wool on it's own due to its rough texture.

learning to knit

I like this wool very much, nice texture and colour. I am just learning to knit so I really do not know much about wool.

Wonderful first experience knitting with an animal fiber

I bought this yarn in Pacific as my husband requested I knit him a blue scarf. This is my first time using an animal fiber and it's been wonderful. The yarn is soft and pleasant to work with.= and knits up quickly. I ended up going back to the store to buy 2 more to lengthen the scarf.
I do need to mention that the color did stain my hands a bit but the store employee gave me advice on how to fix this once I'm done knitting the finished projects.
Using this yarn has been a wonderful first time experience knitting with an animal fiber yarn.
I will be buying more in the future in different colors!
