Julie Peng

Throughout her life, Julie Peng has been deeply involved in the arts. In her youth, she won singing competitions and wrote songs published by both a major television network and an international publisher. After earning a degree in music business, she spent over 12 years in the industry before transitioning to life as a full-time mother. Since then, she has shared her love for music by teaching piano to local children and retired adults.

Julie's knitting journey began in grade school, taught by the women in her family. Her early attempts resulted in zigzagged scarves full of holes, leading her to give up the craft shortly after. However, she picked up her needles again after college and has seldom been seen without them since.During the pandemic, Julie transitioned from modifying existing patterns to writing her own.

Since she began teaching at Biscotte Yarns in 2022, she has found endless inspiration in their extensive collection. Designing with their gorgeous hand-dyed yarns in a multitude of bases—from the delicate CashSilk and sparkly FizWizBiz to her favorite all natural Merica—has made writing patterns for Biscotte Yarns both enjoyable and fulfilling.
