We are delighted to introduce the Aphrodite Socks, designed by Louise Robert especially for Valentine’s Day. For this special occasion, this project is also available as a limited-edition yarn kit ! 💌

Aphrodite is the ancient Greek goddess of love, beauty, desire, and pleasure, also known as Venus in Roman mythology. Since this sock pattern was designed with Valentine's Day in mind, I thought the name was simply perfect. - Louise Robert

You have the option to purchase the pattern only or the knitting kit, which contains both the yarn and the pattern needed to knit this project!

THIS KNITTING KIT INCLUDES

  • The Aphrodite socks knitting pattern (sent as a digital pdf format) - The pattern is included when you purchase a kit.
  • LOUISE ROBERT COLLECTION - SUPER SOCK [75% Merino wool, 25% Nylon; 400m per 100g] - 2 x 50G - shown in :

The limited edition kit also contains:

  • 1x Valentine’s Day–themed stitch marker (Random Pick)
  • 2x “Kisses” chocolates
  • 1x Valentine’s Day note
  • 1x heart-shaped paper clip

IN ADDITION TO THIS KIT, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS

SIZES - ONE SIZE

The length of the foot is adjustable.

GAUGE

32 stitches = 10 cm (4'') in Stockinette Stitch using the 2.5 mm (US 1.5) needles.

NOTE

This pattern can be worked with a set of 5 double-pointed needles or with circular needles.  If using double-pointed needles, please distribute half of the stitches between needles 1 and 2, and the other half between needles 3 and 4.

This pattern starts with a picot edge and ends with the toe, with a heel flap.
Since the pattern involves several consecutive stitches of the same color and requires the contrasting yarn to be carried along behind the work, I designed this pattern using the ladderback Jacquard technique.

With this method, instead of carrying yarn floats behind the work, you increase a temporary "ladder stitch" on the wrong side of the work and purl it as you go.
To make your work easier, I have modified the charts by adding lines indicating where to create your "ladder stitches." You will find a tutorial on "The Three Steps of Ladder Stitch" at the end of the document, and I have also prepared a video tutorial to help you understand this fabulous technique.

ENJOY! ♥

This pattern is sold in a digital pdf format: a link to download your pattern will be provided once the order is completed and you will also get this link by email (make sure to check your spams if you can't find the email in your inbox)
