• Circular needles of 3.50mm (US 4); cable lenght of 80cm (32'') - or size needed to obtain gauge
• Circular needles of 3.25mm (US 3); cable lenght of 80cm (32'') - or size needed to obtain gauge
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle

GAUGE

20 stitches x 24 rows = 10 cm; 4" in garter stitch with A & B on 3.5 mm needles after blocking.

23 stitches x 28 rows = 10 cm; 4 in. garter stitch with A on 3.25 mm needles after blocking.

NOTE

This scarf is knit lengthwise, meaning you'll be casting on lots of stitches but knitting few rows. Have no fear if you've never experienced the Marlisle or reversible Fairisle technique! I'll explain how to do it, and you'll see that it's fun and, all in all, pretty easy once you understand the principle.
