‘‘BELLE BRUME’’ are romantic words spoken by Ovila Pronovost to Émilie Bordeleaux in the beautiful story of the Les Filles de Caleb by Arlette Cousture, a well-known Canadian writer. Like many other teenage girls of my time, I was so seduced by the love story between Ovila and Émilie that I vigorously devoured every book in the series.
