Les Gens de la Ville Hat - FREE Knitting pattern and Optional kit

Designed by Louise Robert, the Les Gens de la Ville Hat is a follow-up to the popular Les Gens de la Ville Mittens pattern and kits.

Since my mitten pattern of the same name has enjoyed some popularity, and since I’ve always had a soft spot for the look of these little houses lined up in rows, I decided to create a hat pattern in the same spirit to celebrate the arrival of the beautiful De Rerum Natura collection in Biscotte’s stores! - Louise Robert

THIS KNITTING KIT INCLUDES

• The Les Gens de la Ville Hat pattern (sent as a digital pdf format) - The pattern is included when you purchase a kit.
• DE RERUM NATURA - ULYSSE [100% merino wool; 185 meters / 50 g] - 2 SKEINS - shown in
  • A - 1 SKEIN - in Genet
  • B - 1 SKEIN - in Delphinium ***

*** Note that Louise used her own stash to create this design. Although the featured DELPHINIUM color may not be available in our stores, you will find that PLUME is very similar. Either way, this project will look amazing with any contrasting color pair!

IN ADDITION TO THIS KNITTING KIT, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING MATERIALS

• DPN or Circular needle of 3.5 mm (US 4) - or size needed to obtain gauge.
• DPN or Circular needle of 3 mm (US 4) - or 0.5 mm smaller than the size needed to obtain gauge.
  
• Tapestry needle
  

SIZE - ADULT S (M, L)

Unstretched headband circumference: 49.5, 52, 53.5 cm / 19.5 (20.5, 21) in.

GAUGE

26 sts and 32 rows = 10 cm (4") worked in stranded colorwork in the round with the larger needles.

NOTE

You can work this pattern with DPNs or circular needles. Depending on the technique you choose for working with circular needles, you may need to switch to double-pointed needles for the decrease rounds. If you’re using DPNs, I suggest dividing your rows into 3 sets of 42 (44, 46) sts. The pattern repeats 3 times per round. I suggest adding a stitch marker between each pattern repeat and using a different one to mark the beginning of each round.
