We are happy to offer this new fairisle sock pattern free of charge ♥ Knitted with our alpaca sock yarn Flamel, these stocking are warm and cozy... perfect for a walk in the snow during a cold winter night...
This pattern is worked from the top down so you will read the chart upside down. There are several techniques to work fairisle, if you've never knit fairisle before or need more information about this technique, you will find several free tutorials online, including videos on YouTube.
In addition to the pattern, you'll need the following material to knit this project :
- 2 skeins of Biscotte Yarns - Flamel shown in Acajou (color A) and Biscuit (Color B)
- DPN or circular needles US #1.5 (2.5 mm) and US #2.5 (3 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
- 1 tapestry needle
Gauge: 30 sts = 10 cm (4 in) in fairisle with larger needles.
Size : Woman one-size (foot length is adjustable).

The pattern and chart are well-written ans easy to follow. I modified the chart by decreasing the calf shaping to 7 stitches, not 3 as the chart indicates, so the sock would fit over my foot. To make the foot long enough I extended the chart for the foot by repeating rounds 1-6 in reverse order after completing round 15 the second time, and by adding one of the 8-leaf rose motifs on top of the toes. I wear a US men's size 12 shoe. the length of the leg portion of the sock and the 100-stitch ribbing are perfect.
