Here it is, the sock pattern designed by Janita Meriläinen. This pattern is knitted with Bis-Sock Autorayante (Self-Striping) and Semi-Solid.
"X marks the spot” is a hidden treasure map. With this unique and easy-to-follow stitch pattern you will create gorgeous socks you will treasure. Knit them in jewel tones and knit several pairs, so your sock drawer becomes a treasure trove!
These socks are constructed as top down socks with a German short row heel. The colour combination ideas are endless and suitable for using up self-striping sock yarn, combined with a single contrasting color." - Janita Meriläinen
In addition to the pattern, you need the following materials to knit the X Mark The Spot pattern:
- Biscotte Yarns Bis-sock (85% merino wool 15% nylon / 100 g - 400 m) Self-striping and semi-solid colourway. Poire : approx. 40g. Chouette: approx. 40g. [The color Chouette] is discontinued, we recommend the color Heureux d'un Printemps].
- Five 2.50 mm double pointed needles or size needed to attain gauge.
- Stitch markers [2], ring markers (optional)
- Tapestry needle
Gauge : 31 sts x 46 rnds = 10 cm Swatch should be worked in the round and measured after blocking.
Final Measurements : Notice that the socks stretches and comes loose after blocking and the first times used. Unfinished work should feel a bit "tight" so that the sock would still fit nicely the foot after you have finished your work by wet blocking.

X Marks the spot
Inspiré de votre patron. Talon modifié. car le talon Allemand ne convient pas à mon pied. Aussi, lorsque j’ai terminé la jambe j’ai réalisé que je n’aimerais pas avoir le point X sous mon pied, alors j’ai tricoté un simple côtelé pour le dessus et un jersey pour le dessous. Malgré le fait que j’ai tricoté bien lâche, j’ai de la difficulté à enfiler mon pied, j’aurais du faire comme habituellement et augmenter la grosseur des aiguilles pour cette section. Donc une amie à petits pieds aura le plaisir des porter. Je n’ai pas trouvé le point X compliqué à accomplir une fois que je l’ai compris. Laine beige Bis-Sock, laine multi couleurs je crois que c'est Zen?
