The DAY DREAM is an oil painting by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, who was a founder of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Created in 1880, this masterpiece depicts Jane Morris, William Morris’s wife and Rossetti’s secret lover, wearing a green silk dress as she sits on a branch of a sycamore tree. She is beautifully surrounded by lush foliage in various shades of green, which inspired the name of this color. - Louise
