Here is the latest design of Louise Robert, the Canopy Pull! This sweater is knit top down in the round, with short rows on the back of the neck for a better fit.
You can adjust the length of the body and sleeves to your preference, while making sure you have enough yarn to complete the sweater.
Throughout the pattern, you will be instructed to distribute increases. If, for your size, you are asked to increase “0 stitch,” move immediately to the next step.
The canopy is the highest part of the forest, formed by the treetops—an arched dome of soft, dappled light, with interwoven colors suspended between sky and earth. This is the inspiration that gave birth to this design.
Just like the canopy, this sweater is built from the top down: the circular yoke comes first, like the crown of a tree, before expanding and flowing into concentric circles. The five color stripes—Kiwi, Pistachio, Lavender, Blue Cherry, and Winter Pine—evoke the different species that make up this green cover, from the tender spring greens to the deep, dark depths of winter pine.
The chosen yarn, a 100% pure mulberry silk, is no coincidence. Mulberry is the nourishing tree of the silkworm—the one without which no silk would exist. Knitting with this yarn is a subtle way of weaving a quiet connection with centuries of craftsmanship and nature.
Canopy is an invitation to bring the beauty of the forest onto your shoulders. - Louise Robert

SIZE - XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL)
Finished Chest Circumference: 76 (84, 91, 99, 107) (117, 127, 140, 150) cm / 30 (33, 36, 39, 42) (46, 50, 55, 59) in.
Suggested ease: ± 5 cm / 2 in. Add the suggested ease to your upper bust measurement, then use the result to choose the final circumference that is closest.
The sweater shown was knit in size L. See the size chart at the end of this document for more details.
GAUGE
24 stitches x 36 rows = 10 cm (4") in stockinette stitch in the round, before blocking on 3.25 mm needles.
Important: Be sure to check gauge after blocking—silk tends to stretch when washed, which will affect the final fit of your sweater.
NOTE
You may notice that Silky Way knit with 3.25 mm needles produces a fabric that is slightly “open” or airy. Note that blocking will open up and enlarge the stitches, resulting in a beautiful fabric with an incomparable softness and drape.
The number of rounds that form each stripe varies depending on the size you choose. If you prefer a solid-color version, you’ll find the total amount of yarn needed in the materials section.
