This pattern was written as part of the KID SILK contest that took place on Louise's blog in spring 2022. Sylvie Benoit imagined this pattern of asymmetrical cardigan "...in which it is good to wrap up because it is soft and warm".

"Knowing that Sylvie is a new knitter, I chose to simplify and adapt her pattern to make it accessible to beginners. That's why this cardigan is knitted horizontally, from one opening to the other, with a stitch pattern easy to remember." - Louise

MATERIAL TO KNIT THIS PATTERN

Louise Robert Collection

  • Merino Worsted [100% merino sw, 200 m/ 100g] : 6 (6, 7, 8, 9, 9) skeins of 100 g – color Sarrasin
  • Kid Silk [75% kid mohair, 25% silk, 210 m /25g] : 6 (6, 7, 8, 9, 9) skeins of 25g – color Van Gogh

Circular needles of 6 mm (or size needed to obtain gauge). *** Although this model is worked back and forth, I recommend using a circular needle with a cable of at least 40" (100 cm) to support the required number of stitches;

Stitch holder or waste yarn, a stitch marker & tapestry needle

SIZES

XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL) For more details, please refer to the schematic below :

GAUGE

16 sts & 24 rows = 10 cm in stockinette stitch with Merino Worsted and Kid Silk held together.

NOTES :  This cardigan is designed like a blanket with sleeves, this pattern has no shoulder seam. It is worked from side to side starting with the left front and ending with the right front, which is folded over to create a diagonal point edging.  Openings for sleeves and pockets (optional) are created along the way.  The beginning of the rows is worked according to the "i-cord" technique to create a cord effect by slipping the first 3 stitches of each row.

This knitting pattern is sold in a numeric PDF format. Add it to your cart and follow every steps to complete your order.
