Alpaca Bouclé - Drops
DROPS Alpaca Bouclé is a lovely effect yarn spun in superfine alpaca. Its fibers are untreated, which means that they are only washed and not exposed to any chemical treatment prior to the dyeing. This highlights the fiber’s natural properties, while it also provides a better shape and texture quality.
“Bouclé” is the French word for a loop and it refers to the number of small loops of pure alpaca that give the ball its characteristic look and that enhance the softness of the fiber. Spun from 2 strands, the core is a blend of wool and nylon that help give the yarn strength. Garments made in DROPS Alpaca Bouclé are light and fluffy.

La laine est douce et chaude. Il faut être attentif avec les premiers mailles. Après ça marche bien. Très original.
Shipping was very quick, and this yarn is incredibly warm and soft! I was pleasantly surprised how far each skein went as well! The attached project took 6.75 skeins.
I love Drops yarns, especially the Alpaca yarns. Their softness is so beautiful. Boucle yarns are not the easiest to work with, and this one is no exception, but ohhh is the effect ever nice. Here I've used the yarn held together with Drops kidsilk, giving the fabric a little more strength and substance, to make some curly haired bears. The boucle yarn used on its own is quite stretchy, so for toy making you will need to hold another yarn alongside it to avoid the stuffing to show through. At the moment I am working on a pair of Llamas, one in cream coloured Drops Boucle, and the other in brown Drops Boucle, both with Drops Alpaca fine weight yarn held alongside it. I am very pleased with this yarn.
