Come and discover the ladderback jacquard technique with Louise Robert at the P'tite Laine Festival

In this workshop, Louise Robert will teach you the ladderback jacquard technique, a very practical method for knitting jacquard with long floats on the wrong side of the work.

This technique replaces crossed floats behind the work with an invisible stitch through the stitches, making the knit more supple, uniform and comfortable to wear. It is particularly suitable for spaced patterns or projects requiring elasticity and a clean finish on the wrong side.

At the end of the workshop, participants will have understood when to use this method, how to implement it and integrate it into their jacquard projects to obtain a neater and more extensible result.

Required materials

Materials provided: The kit to knit the Mexico, te quiero hat model, including the printed knitting pattern and four (4) skeins of the LOUISE ROBERT COLLECTION - HIGHLAND [100% Peruvian Highland wool (24.5 microns), untreated, 1 ply; 110 m for 100 g], distributed in colors A, B, C & D (1 skein of each color). NOTE ON COLORS: several skeins will be made available so you can choose the colors for your project.

Materials not provided: 8 mm (US 11) circular needles or double-pointed needles - or the size needed to obtain gauge. 6.5 mm (US 10.5) circular needles or double-pointed needles - or 1.5 mm smaller than the size needed to obtain gauge. Stitch markers (4 markers, one different from the others). Tapestry needle, scissors or yarn cutter.
